The Criminal Court of the Quart “Popular Concord,” of the District of the City of Eustata, Region M.A.C., Republic of Guntreland,
Having before it the indictment against Citizeness Margareta Rau, of Loransburg, brought by the Citizen Quart Prosecutor,
Finds:
- That the said Citizeness Margareta Rau, on the Fifth of Cunical of the current year, in the salon of Citizen Mitler, at No. 16, Street of the Revenge of the Republicans, in the presence of several Citizens, addressed Citizen Heinrich Uber, a palaeontologist of Eustata, with insulting names, without cause and without legal ground, demanding of Citizen Mitler that he remove the said Citizen Uber from his salon according to her own will; and
- That, on the same occasion, she struck the said Citizen Uber several times, without cause and without legal ground, upon the head and face with heavy objects, whereby the blood of the said Citizen Uber was shed.
After having heard the Citizen Quart Prosecutor upon the application of the Law,
Condemns the said Margareta Rau to the punishment of BANISHMENT.
In accordance with the Articles of the Republican Code, the reading of which the Court has performed, and which provide:
“Whoever insults a Citizen shall be dishonourably mentioned, imprisoned, deprived of his civil rights for one year, or banished, upon the demand which the interested person shall submit to the Court.”
“Whoever strikes a Citizen shall be condemned to three years’ imprisonment; if blood be shed, he shall be banished.”
And orders that all the goods of the said Rau be confiscated for the benefit of the Republic, in accordance with the Article of the Republican Code, likewise read, which provides:
“All the goods of those who are banished, and who have no children, shall be confiscated; and from their value shall be maintained the disabled of the wars for the Freedom of the Republic, and the spouses and children of those who have given their lives for the Republic, insofar as they possess no other means of subsistence.”
It likewise orders that the condemned woman be held in one of the prisons of the Republic until, in accordance with the Decree of the National Assembly concerning Banished Persons of the First of Cunical, Year Fourteen, the conditions shall have been fulfilled for her banishment beyond the territory of the Republic of Guntreland, or to the islands under the sovereignty of the Republic of Guntreland designated for the settlement of banished persons.
The condemned is hereby instructed that an appeal against this Judgment, which shall not suspend its execution, may be lodged before the Regional Court of Appeal after the cessation of the general public danger in the Republic of Guntreland, within thirty days from the day upon which such danger shall have ceased.
