(the chapter starts with the corrupted Raxis sitting in a abandoned building with the moonlight shining down casting a shadows)
Valka: (walks in) my lord.
Raxis: any news about our agents in the field?
Valka: we have not received any information from Gregor or the two squads sent to the battle fronts.
Raxis: what about Tenebris?
Valka: reports say that he was last seen in Voltarrok.
Raxis: So he lives. gather our forces (he stands up and tries to walk forward but his eyes glow bright red and he falls to one knee)
Valka: Raxis...(tries to help him but he slaps her hands away) your in no condition to fight now.
Raxis: aghh, If I wasn't weakened by the chaos, I would kill him right now.
Valka: I promise you that Tenebris will die by the hands of the Kongur. (she helps him up)
Raxis: (sit back on the broken pillar) keep an eye on his every move. where he goes, Arthor and karri will too.
Valka: (bows and walks out)
(Raxis sits on the pillar and a mouth appears on his shadow)
Voice: look how far you have fallen....
Raxis: (looks around him and grabs his dagger) who said that!?
Voice: even with all that power you are still a disappointment.
Raxis: you mock me as if you don't hide from my presence!?
(a man made of darkness rises from his shadow)
Raxis: so you do have a spine. (he holds the dagger out ready to fight)
Shade: (the shade smiles) you have forgotten whose blade that really is. (the shade holds out his hand, the blade starts pulling Raxis who tries to hold it back but the blade flies out of his hand to the shades)
Raxis: it can't be...(he drops to his knees) master. but how are you here? Jericho has not been destroyed?
Shade: You have been reborn through my power, through that connection we may now speak.
Raxis: Reborn?
Shade: your over used the chaos blades power and your body was destroyed because of it. In other words...you died.
Raxis: (he looks down at the ground in silence, then starts laughing slowly and then burst into a fit of laughter) do you think I'm a fool. As if somebody could loose? I am the strongest being in this miserable world.
Shade: and yet you can barely stand.
Raxis: (smile fades) why are you here, surly not only to mock me?
Shade: I have given you a portion of my power, (black energy starts forming around the blade) that you may complete your mission. (the blade emerges much larger and glowing multiple colors it floats over to Raxis) I will not be failed again. (Raxis grabs it and multi-colored power starts running through him) (the shade drops back into the shadow as Raxis)
(it cuts to Tenebris and the others on the tracks)
Arthor: seriously how am I supposed to fight someone with this?
Tenebris: the master blacksmith makes weapons based on the gift of the wielder.
Arthor: I don't have a gift though.
Tenebris: Everyone has a gift, yours just hasn't manifested yet.
Karri: ooh ooh, what's my gift.
Tenebris: I don't know.
Karri: why not?
Tenebris: how am I supposed to know, I've never seen you use one.
Karri: maaan!
Machi: what's a gift manifestation look like?
Tenebris: it usually is some kind of technique that is personal to you.
Lykoi: my people gift as you say, is a bond between animal and man.
Tenebris: that's one way a gift manifest for dyriads.
Arthor: so what's your gift?
Tenebris: well....its hard to explain.
Karri: do you have one?
Tenebris: I don't remember what it is.
everyone: whaat?
Tenebris: it's not something you can explain well. just something you have to feel.
Arthor: well how'd you manifest your gift?
Tenebris: its not something that can happen overnight, you need a lot of practice and training.
Arthor: how much training?
Tenebris: depends on the person.
Arthor: helpful.
Tenebris: look I am just answering your question, what do you want me to say?
Arthor: I don't know. (looks angry)
Tenebris: I may not have every answer but I can tell that you have grown strong. both you and karri's orku has increased significantly. you maybe closer to unlocking your gifts than you think.
Karri and arthor: Really!?
Tenebris: Maybe.
(the train starts slowing as it rolls into the station) (the gang get out and see Keira standing with her arms crossed and Sam standing next to her. )
Machi: whatever your mad at he did it. (he points at tenebris)
Tenebris: Really?
Keira: (angrily) Tenebris, your presence is requested by the legionaries assembly.
Machi: somebodies in trouble.
Tenebris: thanks machi. (Tenebris starts walking off with Keira)
Sam: I'll take you guys to an inn while they do that stuff. Are those the gifts Rekinn gave you.
Karri: yeah their awesome aren't they!
Sam: super awesome.
(the conversation continues as they walk away)
CHAPTER 96 DARK MATTERS OF IMPORTANTS
(Keira and Tenebris walk into a castle and a bunch of other legionaries are there. she leads him to a room where a big table is with the legionary captains who took part in the war. Tenebris sits down at the table and Keira stands at the head)
Keira: Thank you all for coming. As every party from the war is here we can get started. As you all know, our mission is to uphold and protect the peace between Kingdom powers. but I think we can all say that that simply isn't true anymore. Egran was just a start. Tensions between nations and legions have become all too apparent. Even within this room, there might be some unseen conflict. Evil has not rested while we have been sitting idlily by. The dead stars, the Kongur, Joer, and more( she looks over at tenebris). We confirmed the theories that tenebris had about the Oncoming storm prophecy. The leader of the Kongur Raxis, also known as Solomon is trying to brake the seal of Jericho. (the whole room is shocked) We are still unsure why he took over Egran, but It may have to do with its large supply of Malmite. Currently our legions are working with what's left of Egran's personnel, to try and find the Kongur higher ups.
(she puts her hand down on the table and her eyes glow and the table starts glowing and a map forms on it. ) A Legionary guard post at the edge of Egran was raided recently. (the map shows a red dot near the border of Egran and Jericho south of Voltarrok) Not a single survivor. after further examination, we found several legionaries had been petrified. (everyone is shocked again and whispering starts). With how rare complete petrification is, its safe to assume that someone, or something drained them of their orku. (gestures to Reinier who stands up)
Reinier: Recently there have been reports of so called "Devils" (multiple red dots appear on the map). a report from Joer, two from the southwestern warfront. and another at the Sedanss Egran border. all matching the same description. an undetectable, dark energy that absorbed orku and possessed some sort of regeneration. all except one. (gestures to Alejandro as he sits down)
Alejandro: At the Sedanss Egran border, a "Devil" matching the description of former 19th royal knight Magnus brynja. unlike the other "devils" he retained his orku and gift, along side the dark energy. he injured 2 other higher ranked royal knights and took the 2nd ranked royal knight of Egran Demion. we have been unable to track their whereabouts. (he sits down)
Keira: thank you. that is all the information we currently have. As for Egran their is still work to be done. I am requesting a single legion from each kingdom power to help. In order that we can put to rest the towns still in rebellion and to find Raxis, his followers, and Demion, figure a help party among yourselves. dismissed.
(the map turns off and the legionaries get up and walk out. except for Keira and tenebris.)
Keira: is there anything you can remember that Raxis said that might give us a clue as to his plan?
Tenebris: Im sorry, I don't.
Keira: "Hough" alright.
Tenebris: although arthor said something. he said Raxis called him and karri sacrifices.
Keira: sacrifices? those kids?
Tenebris: he could probably explain it better than me.
Keira: We took their orku levels while in the hospital. Arthor's levels have increased drastically. Tenebris: how drastic we talking?
Keira: A.R.K. levels.
Tenebris: I didn't think it was that much. what about karri?
Keira: cant say for sure we have no previous records. but his energy...it matches Demion's.
Tenebris: A royal knights!?
Keira: not in scale but in property. Tenebris he's Gefanda.
Tenebris: (stands up) are you sure?
Keira: not 100% but... we only know 2 confirmed Gefanda in the legions and the Kongur are after both. that cant be a coincidence.
Tenebris: no. it cant.
Keira: Raxis is still out there. If Arthor and karri stay with you, all of you will be targets. it would be better for them to come with me.
Tenebris: What?
Keira: I can train them, they will constantly be under my protection.
Tenebris: Arthor would never let that happen.
Keira: its the only way we can stop Raxis.
Tenebris: no, your needed. you cant be a baby sitter. I will take them back to Tempura, the barrier protects the island.
Keira: Tempura? is that where you've been?
Tenebris: yes, I still have a key blade that can access the barrier.
Keira: Tenebris, really think about this. this is serious.
Tenebris: I know it is, and I believe that Tempura is the best answer for them. I'll train them, as I try to figure out more about the prophecy.
Keira: .. .... .Fine but I'm sending an armored escort with you.
Tenebris: (nods) I'll get them ready. (he starts walking towards the door)
Keira: Tenebris...
Tenebris: (stops)
Keira: I'm sorry about earlier.
Tenebris: it's fine. I get it. If I could tell you I would. I know what its like to be in your position. its not easy...for anyone. (he walks out the door)
( Sam, Arthor, karri, lykoi, and machi are all sitting in the dinning room around a table at a inn. )
Machi: so what's the story about Keira and Tenebris. I mean, is it some kind of, past love or some crazy friendship or somthin?
Karri: I was wondering that too, she's asked to speak with tenebris several times.
Sam: well its not anything like that.
Arthor: so what is it then, partners in the legions?
Sam: from what she has told me, a long time ago. tenebris was the first ranked Immortal knight
Everyone: what!?!
Arthor: Tenebris?
Sam: yep.
Arthor: how long ago?
Sam: I don't know for sure, but from from what I know over 100 years ago.
Machi: 100 years!? how old are these guys they look like their 30.
Sam: the stronger the orku the longer life you have, that's why their called Immortal knights, they hold the position for so many years.
Karri: so was she like his A.R.K. or....
Sam: actually Keira wasn't even a legionary when they met. she told me the story, when she was a little girl her village was attacked by raiders, her parents and her were taken as hostages. for 3 days they were kept on a ship without food or water. She prayed to the creator to help her family and the other prisoners. One day her prayers were answered. she heard people fighting above deck and the deck cracked and there he was. Tenebris jumped down and freed all the hostages, by himself.
Machi: dang I didn't know bro had it like that.
Arthor: but you said she was a little girl, so how does she know so much about him?
Sam: that raid was not just a one off, but it was part of a war.
Arthor: The extinction of Time.
Machi: sick name.
Sam: yes, wait how'd you...
Arthor: Tenebris told me about it.
Sam: well then you know it was completely erased from the history books.
Arthor: he told me that also.
Sam: the only records of it are the memories of those who lived through it, and not many people did.
Karri: what's that have to do with Keira?
Sam: Tenebris was injured during a battle. He had no where else to go but back to the people he saved.
Lykoi: Keira's family took him in?
Sam: exactly. I don't know for how long, but she told me the story many times of a man who stood against an army.
Machi: so that's how they know each other. man that's tragic.
Sam: unfortunately she had no proof that the war ever existed. As far as I know she was the only one who lived through it. but since tenebris is alive she now has undeniable proof. they have no reason to not record the war.
Tenebris: what use would that have.
(everyone jumps)
Machi: when did you get here.
Tenebris: few seconds ago. but really, even if they were to receive proof of the war, do you really think the royalty would claim their descendance is from someone who committed genocide? Tempura wasn't even the first war they swept under the rug. They claimed the pure giants were a race of savage people who tried to conquer the world. what they don't tell you is the millions of innocent blood they spill just to get rid of a threat to their power.
Arthor: I told you, the legions have always been selfish and power hungry.
Sam: not all of them.
Arthor: everyone wants power, and they'll do anything they can to gain it. I;ve learned that lesson very well.
Sam: Some people join the legions so they can help others and try and do good.
Arthor: try is a strong word.
Sam and Arthor stare angrily at each other.
Tenebris: calm down. nows not the time. we have to get ready.
Karri: ready for what?
Tenebris: We're going back to Tempura.
Arthor: what? but Raxis is still out there we have to go after him.
Tenebris: that's exactly why were going to Tempura. it is the only place you all will be safe.
Machi: what's Tempura?
Tenebris: Remember the place I told you about that's quite and secluded?
Machi: yeah?
Tenebris: that's Tempura.
Machi: Finally! I was starting to think we would be fighting for the rest of our lives.
Sam: Keira's mentioned that place a couple of times, but wouldn't you be safer here with legionaries to guard you?
Tenebris: Raxis has men in the legions, I'd rather not take the chance. Tempura is the safest place.
Lykoi: why?
Tenebris: the island is protected by a barrier that can only be passed through with something called a key blade.
Karri: oh yeah, wait I lost mine.
Tenebris: don't worry I have another one in a safe place. we'll be leaving as soon as Keira's transport is ready. Lykoi, I thank you for your help, but since your missions done you are free to go home.
Lykoi: I am not allowed.
Tenebris: what? what do you mean?
Lykoi: A cast out wolf cannot return to its pack.
Arthor: you weren't cast out. you came with us as a guide and to stop the war.
Lykoi: It is small price to pay for the protection of my people.
Machi: na that aint right. you can they abandon you after all you did for them.
Lykoi: it is custom. those who leave for the outside, have themselves become outsiders. it is way of my clan. (ulfer ears drop)
Tenebris: Lykoi, im so sorry, we didn't know. if you had told us we would have never asked you.
Lykoi: it was my kings decision and mine. I fight for those I love. If I had to make decision again. I willed.
Tenebris: ( looks at everyone.) well, I guess were all outsiders at the end of the day. welcome to our pack lykoi.
Lykoi: (he smiles and ulfer gets excited)
Karri: buddy! (ulfer tackles karri)
Lykoi: thank you.
Tenebris: lets load up. we have a long journey back.
CHAPTER 98 HOMEWARD BOUND
(the chapter opens with Tenebris and the gang standing outside the tavern early the next morning. Keira and Sam are standing with several legionaries. )
Keira: Tenebris, thank you for all you have done. no, thank all of you. even at such a young age you all have done something more amazing than any legionary here. I cant wait to see what the creator has in store for you in the future.
(it shows machi smiling big, lykoi and ulfer bowing respectfully, Karri almost crying, arthor annoyed and Tenebris standing nonchalantly. )
Tenebris: We couldn't have done it without you. (he shakes Keira's hand)
Keira: We will find Raxis and find a cure for the chaos.
Tenebris: I know you will. (he turns to go to the tracks, Keira stops him)
Keira: Live a good life tenebris. you deserve it.
Tenebris: (smiles) I'll try my best. (he walks away and boards the train)
Karri: Bye everyone! Tell that blacksmith guy thanks again for the weapons!
Keira: Blacksmith guy?
Sam: Rekinn had Makros make them weapons.
Keira: that guy is obsessed with fighting. (they start walking away)
(on the train)
Arthor: so is that it? were just going to hide? again?
Tenebris: We are not hiding. We are going to tempura to train safely. as it currently is we are not strong enough to face him again. if Keira is able to take down the Kongur while we train even better.
Arthor: How are you okay with letting the legions take care of our problems. if Raxis wants us then we have to defend ourselves.
Tenebris: maybe we will one day. but not today.
Arthor: (looks away angrily)
Karri: I just remembered Johsef's going to be so happy when we get back.
Machi: Johsef? I thought you said you were the only ones on the island?
Tenebris: we are, Johsef is a Chrono penguin.
Machi: You just making up words at this point.
Karri: No its true, he's a penguin that glows sometimes.
Lykoi: that does not seem healthy.
Tenebris: I'm sure he will be excited to see you when we get back.
Machi: is their anything not weird about yall?
Tenebris: not really.
Machi: Haha my kind of people.
Tenebris: (looks out the window as the it zooms out to see the tracks passing through the city. )
(it cuts to the train stopping at a station and tenebris and the gang get off with multiple legionaries surrounding them. )
Legionary: there is a guardian class transport ship at the docks.
Tenebris: lead the way. (the gang walk down to the docks are greet several navy legionaries as they board the ship all the legionaries are lined up and at attention)
Captain: it is an honor to be your transport sir.
Tenebris: please this is not necessary, we're just trying to get home.
Captain: it is the least amount of appreciation we can show to the heroes that stopped the war. alright lets get this thing moving!
Soldiers: Aye! (they start walking away and preparing the ship for departure)
Machi: (elbows tenebris) Looks like I'm not the only legend around here anymore.
Tenebris: don't let it go to your head. we're just ordinary people...except for arthor.
Arthor: Aye!
Karri: hahaha
Tenebris: (smiles) (it zooms out to see the ship departing from the dock. it shows a montage of the gang eating in the mess hall, sleeping in the crew quarters, machi still to big for the bed, karri and lykoi training with their weapons, the gang drudging through a storm and finally making it back to Elvo. it cuts to Jaeja in his bar. a crowd starts forming outside, he goes out to see what's going on and he sees the Legionary ship docking. the gang is looking over the side)
Karri: Jaeja! We're back! (waving)
Jaeja: (smiles)
(the gang get off the boat and greet Jaeja)
Jaeja: So you made it back in one piece...mostly.
Tenebris: it's good to be back.
Jaeja: You've been making quite the stir in the news.
Tenebris: have we?
Jaeja: Well I assume your the white haired man with bandages that keeps making messes of towns.
Tenebris: (laughs awkwardly) that's safe to assume.
Jaeja: its good to see your safe. you too boys. glad your okay. And it seems like you found a few more strays on your journey to find karri. Jaeja. (he puts his hand out)
Machi: Machi. (he shakes his hand)
Lykoi: Lykoi. ( he bows with ulfer)
Jaeja: your the giant of Joer aren't you?
Machi: I am, or I was at least.
Tenebris: do you have the key blade?
Jaeja: do you have my ship?
Tenebris: (eyes go wide) uhh, well...
Jaeja: "hough" Figures as much. you owe me so much.
Tenebris: (pulls out a bag of coins) would this be enough?
Jaeja: (opens a bag of gold coins and is shocked) uht, where did all this come from?
Tenebris: the king of Elvo.
Jaeja: Hehhahaha! your crazy you know that.
Tenebris: I know.
Jaeja: (gives him the key blade) glad your back old friend.
Tenebris: glad to be back.
(it cuts to the gang on a ship heading out towards Tempura and tenebris holds the dagger up and a light shines around them)
